Have window locks fitted, and keep them locked – especially windows located on the ground floor or in any other way easily accessible. Sheds and outbuildings should have a substantial lock and padlock in place.

Dogs keep the burglars away, and warn you when there are intruders. Gravel and pebbles on driveways can also act as a deterrent to burglars. When you go out, remember to leave the lights on!
